Former Resident Visa

This visa allows former Australian permanent residents and people who served in the Australian Armed Forces before 1981 to resettle in Australia.

This visa is available to people who have either

• spent nine of their first 18 years in Australia as a permanent resident, or
• completed three months of service in the Australian Armed Forces at any time before 19 January 1981.

An applicant's spouse and dependent family members may be included in an application if they meet certain requirements.
